The 2024 Melbourne Royal Australian Food Awards, a hallmark of excellence in Australian food production, have officially opened for entries. The Awards are open to commercial food producers of all sizes, from boutique operators to large-scale manufacturers. As one of the largest programs of its kind, these prestigious awards have served as a springboard for many of Australia's most successful food products and brands.

Delicious and decadent dairy was in abundance at the 25th Australian Grand Dairy Awards held in Victoria Pavilion at Melbourne Showgrounds on Thursday 1 February hosted by Dairy Australia and the Royal Agriculture Societies.

Among the standout winners of the 2023 Australian Food Awards, Inglenook Dairy, based in Dunnstown, Victoria, not only clinched the Trophy for Best Cream but also secured an impressive array of accolades, including four Gold medals, two Silver medals, and a Bronze. We had the pleasure of catching up with Troy and Rachael Peterken, the dynamic duo behind Inglenook Dairy, to delve into their family business and the significance of this remarkable achievement.

On Thursday, July 13, 2023, Melbourne Royal unveiled the results of the highly anticipated 2023 Australian Food Awards’ Sweet & Savoury Preserves category. After a three-year hiatus, this year's competition witnessed an impressive 324 entries spanning 12 diverse categories, culminating in the bestowing of Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals, along with three major Trophies. In a remarkable feat, Grange Garlic, in their debut entry, clinched a prestigious Gold Medal in the Pickled, Fermented, or Preserved Fruit or Vegetables category.

After tasting a myriad of silky-smooth milks, yoghurts, cheeses, butters and ice-creams, the expert judges of the 2023 Melbourne Royal Dairy Awards have revealed which Australian products have claimed top honours in this competitive category of the Australian Food Awards.
