Melbourne Royal is deeply saddened to announce the recent passing of Damian Noseda.
Damian began his journey as a Horse Steward at the Melbourne Royal Show in the early 1980s, assisting his father Jim with the popular Tent Pegging event. Over the years, Damian served as a Steward before being promoted to an assistant role in the swabbing area, located under the Ringmaster’s Rooms.

Known as the 'Voice of the Show.' Graeme's remarkable journey spanned 43 Royal Melbourne Shows, from a young showjumper to an iconic announcer, his dedication and passion were unwavering, recognised with prestigious awards including the President's Medal in 1997.

Melbourne Royal is saddened to hear of the passing of Bill Chambers OAM.
Bill has been a familiar face at the Royal Melbourne Wine Awards for many years. Born in Rutherglen in 1933, Bill became the fifth-generation winemaker in his family, serving as a Wine Judge for the Awards for the first time in 1950, and later as Chairman of the Royal Melbourne Wine Show judging panel for 21 years. In 1994, Bill was awarded the President’s Medal as well as a life member of RASV in honour of his valuable contribution over many years.
