Manager, Occupational Health & Safety

This position will have functional accountability for the ongoing development and administration of Melbourne Royal’s OH&S, including compliance monitoring, incident investigations, and capability development. The Manager OH&S will work across all aspects of Melbourne Royal’s operations, supporting the Executive Leadership Team and employees to build a safety conscious culture; applying specialised knowledge of health and safety to the role in an easy to understand and practical way.

This position plays a crucial role in ensuring effective health and safety practices are developed, implemented and embedded across the organisation and events, with the overall aim of ensuring a safe and healthy environment for staff, contractors, volunteers, event personnel and the public.

People & Culture Advisor

This position is responsible for implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy and goals. Responsibilities include all aspects of the employee lifecycle, recruitment & selection, performance management, policies & procedures, employment relations, culture programs, health & wellbeing initiatives, and training & development.  

Included in the role is the payroll function for approximately 80 employees (most employees are salaried).  The payroll portion of the position is about 10% of the role.

Competitions Assistant

The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support for the Equestrian competition to ensure we deliver world class competitions, in particular at the Melbourne Royal Show.  In addition, there will also be the requirement to support other competitions - Poultry, Alpaca, Beef Cattle, Beef Carcase, Sheep, Fleece, Dairy, Horses in Action, Dogs, Art, Craft and Cookery and Woodchop when required

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Delivering administrative support that will underpin and enhance the integrity of our competitions.
  • Delivering superior exhibitor service and experience.
  • Minimising administration and event delivery costs.

Full Stack Developer – 4 Month Fixed Term Contract

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Full Stack Developer to provide software development and solutions architecture for in-house developed solutions software in a small development team.  This is a 4-month full-time fixed term contract that includes the opportunity to WFH 2 days a week.  We are looking for the right person to commence ASAP.

The Developer must understand emerging trends, standards and best practices in platform, software and tools.  The person should be able to develop application software to ensure successful management of the enterprise database and associated systems.

Marketing Manager

The role is responsible for managing all brand-related marketing for the company and management of the Marketing and Digital Marketing Teams.  Development of the marketing strategy in line with the company objectives and overseeing the marketing budget within a service orientated and results driven team is a key part of the role.  Ensuring collaboration between the Marketing, Digital Marketing and PR, Communications and Engagement Teams is key to ensure the effective planning, execution and reporting of campaigns.

Communications Advisor

The role is responsible for providing a range of communications support across a diverse program of business activity and events, including the Melbourne Royal Show.

The Communications Advisor focuses on Melbourne Royal’s communications and publishing activities and is expected to drive an integrated communications strategy that connects stakeholders with Melbourne Royal’s communications program through a range of interfaces including traditional media, publishing, brand identity, social media, publicity, marketing and the staging of events. A critical component of this role is the capacity to research and survey Melbourne Royal’s audiences and to develop targeted and innovative communications as appropriate.

This role will be expected to have impeccable copywriting and editing skills; a good understanding of the print and digital publishing landscapes; and an ability to contribute to editorial direction from idea generation through to production.
