Online Sheep Junior Judging Competition

Melbourne Royal® is excited to offer the sheep community the opportunity to be involved in the Online Sheep Junior Judging Competition. The competition provides agricultural students and youth associated with a sheep stud, the chance to engage in an informal competition and celebrate their hard work throughout 2021.

Submissions will be judged across three age ranges:

  • Under 12
  • Ages 12-15
  • Ages 16-19

The winning submission for each age range will be featured on Melbourne Royal® social media and website. The video sets will be shared with schools, previous exhibitors of the Melbourne Royal® Show. Don't miss out, competition entries open on Wednesday 1 September.

Online Sheep Junior Judging Competition

Participants will have the opportunity to provide a judging summary on a set of three long wool, short wool or cleanskin sheep.

Judging criteria

The judges will be looking for confidence in delivery, assessment of sheep structure and an overall knowledge and depth of understanding of sheep judging.

Keep in mind all parts of the sheep must be judged to maximise your score.

How to enter:

1. Click here to view the video exhibits for all three categories (long wool, short wool or cleanskin).

2. Create your 3 ½ minute video or audio file on your iPhone, tablet or camera to provide a judging summary of one of three categories.

3. Submit your video/audio judging summary file to including the following (you may submit as a dropbox or google link, or attach the file):
