Entries reopened for the 2020 Australian International Beer Awards

The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) is pleased to announce the new judging schedule for 2020 Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA) and entries are now open.

With the program rescheduled due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the judging will occur from Wednesday 9 - Friday 11 September at Melbourne Showgrounds.

Conducted by RASV, the AIBA is the largest annual beer competition in the world assessing both draught and packaged beer, attracting around 2,600 entries from more than 400 breweries in 26 countries.

The annual event celebrates and recognises the best brewers across the world with up to 34 trophies presented to the champions of each category, including the overall Champion Australian Beer and Champion International Beer.

RASV CEO, Brad Jenkins was excited to announce that the AIBA would be conducted later this year, with careful consideration placed on maintaining safety and integrity.

“The new September judging dates have been chosen to maximise participation from the international brewing community and will ensure the Australian International Beer Awards remains the pinnacle benchmarking opportunity for producers from Australia and abroad,” said Mr Jenkins.

“The health of judges, stewards and staff is the highest priority of the RASV and we will continue to monitor the ongoing COVID-19 health warnings,” Mr Jenkins concluded.

The 2020 trophy winners are set to be announced via a virtual awards presentation on Wednesday 23 September.
