Kate O'Sullivan Appointed Vice President of Melbourne Royal

Melbourne Royal is pleased to announce the appointment of Kate O’Sullivan as Vice President, recognising her outstanding leadership, extensive board experience, and deep connection to Victoria’s agricultural and events industries.
A seasoned executive and board director, Kate has built a distinguished career as an Executive General Manager and CEO, leading major organisations across the gambling, wagering, and entertainment sectors.
Her past roles include serving as CEO of Pegasus Leisure Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Melbourne Racing Club, as well as holding senior State and National positions within the industry.
Kate’s strong grounding in agriculture began on her family farm in Seymour, where she grew up immersed in cropping, wool production, and beef cattle breeding.
She holds an Associate Diploma in Farm Management and a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration — qualifications that reflect her lifelong connection to rural enterprise and her passion for strong business governance.
Today, Kate is Managing Director of Portishead Pty Ltd, a consulting organisation specialising in executive coaching for women in the corporate sector.
She also holds several prominent leadership positions, including Chairperson of Prahran Market Pty Ltd, Board Member of Moonee Valley Racing Club, and Board Director of Essendon Football Club, where she also serves on the Finance, Risk and Integrity Sub-Committee.
Kate is additionally a Council Member of Marcus Oldham Agricultural College and the Melbourne Girls Grammar School Foundation.
A long-serving member of Melbourne Royal’s Performance and Culture Board Sub-Committee, Kate brings a wealth of experience, strategic insight, and a strong commitment to supporting Melbourne Royal’s continued evolution — celebrating its proud heritage while driving innovation, excellence, and community impact across Victoria and beyond.
