Yes, all exhibitors entering the Melbourne Royal Show must be members of relevant breed societies or associations. All sheep are to be tattooed in accordance with their breed regulations.

As of January 2019, all sheep and non-exempt goats introduced from interstate and born after 1 January 2017, must be electronically tagged before being dispatched from a Victorian property (including Showgrounds).
