Stables and Lockers

As part of Melbourne Royal’s ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and compliance with City of Melbourne requirements, several upgrades are being implemented to ensure the smooth and safe operation of this year’s Show. 

One of the major changes is the relocation of all lockers to the Clydesdale Pavilion (Building 2), following a comprehensive risk assessment conducted after the 2024 Melbourne Royal Show. 

As a result, all stables - except for approximately 20 - will now be in Building 6 or the adjacent outdoor asphalt area. 

Melbourne Royal understand this adjustment may present logistical challenges for exhibitors transporting equipment and is actively exploring solutions to minimise disruption while prioritising safety and wellbeing of both exhibitors and animals. 

Additional updates and improvements include: 

  • A dedicated phone-charging station (for phones only) in a central, easily accessible location. 
  • Centralised amenities including showers, toilets and a communal dining area. 
  • Enhanced OH&S compliance throughout the grounds. 
  • Additional storage space in Building 6A for vehicle equipment and both light and heavy harness gear. 
  • Overnight parking will return to the hillside area, with directions provided in acceptance packs. 
  • Gate 3 will be open for vehicle exits 
  • Hot water will be available at the wash bays in Building 6. 

Arrival and departure times remain provisional and will be confirmed in acceptance communications from 24 July.
