The Garryowen Hall of Fame was first introduced at Melbourne Royal in 2009 to acknowledge champions within three criteria. The three award criteria consist of Rider, Horse and Exceptional Service. The awards recognize exceptional achievements towards the Garryowen, an event held in honour of Violet Murrell and Garryowen.
