Vicky Lawrie and Brueghel

Vicky Lawrie pictured with Brueghel in 1989 after winning the Garryowen. It was Brueghel's first time winning the competition and Vicky's fourth. In total, Vicky has won the Garryowen a record-breaking six times and also placed in the Garryowen a staggering 17 times including her wins. She won with Picasso in 1981, 1983, and 1984, with Breughel in 1989 (pictured here) and in 1990, and achieved one final win in 2000 riding Kings before retiring from the event. When the Garryowen Hall of Fame was introduced in 2009, Vicky Lawrie was the first person recognised in the Rider criteria.
