We have started 2026 with great enthusiasm, energy and optimism. I am delighted to share with you some exciting organisational changes at Melbourne Royal. The organisational changes implemented to start the new year include the appointment of Hannah von Bibra to the role of Executive General Manager, Melbourne Royal Show and Sam Buckley to the role of Executive General Manager, Melbourne Showgrounds.

Congratulations to Victorian Agricultural Shows Chairperson, Vivian Beaumont who was recently awarded the Medal of Order of Australia as a part of the 2026 Australia Day Honours for his service to the community through a range of roles.

The Melbourne Royal Board, management and staff, we were saddened to learn of the passing of Marion McKinnon on 7 January 2026.

Entries are now officially open for the Melbourne Royal Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA), the world’s largest annual beer competition evaluating both draught and packaged beer, along with cider and perry. Breweries and cideries worldwide are invited to showcase their craft, compete on an international stage, and receive feedback from an esteemed panel of Australian and international judges.

Altitude Brewing, a boutique brewery nestled in the south of New Zealand, earned international recognition as the Champion Small International Brewery at the 2025 Australian International Beer Awards.
