There is renewed optimism in November with the relaxing of COVID restrictions. It is fabulous that we can once again catch up with family and friends, enjoy dining out and visit regional Victoria. This optimism is reflected in the events sector and I am pleased to advise that the interest and enquiries to hold events and exhibitions at Melbourne Showgrounds is beginning to grow again.

As we wait for the restrictions to ease, we continue to celebrate and promote agriculture by innovating and successfully delivering events and competitions online.

This is a special Show edition of RASV News to launch an exciting program of online content and activities to celebrate the Royal Melbourne Show online this year from 19-29 September.

We begin a new month and new season hopeful that stage 4 COVID restrictions will end in the coming weeks and we can get back to the business of holding events for Victorians to enjoy with family and friends.

These are extraordinary times and since my June update, we have experienced another change with the return to stage three lockdown in Metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This has had a significant impact on business and community confidence.
