A number of events scheduled for 2020 at Melbourne Showgrounds have unfortunately been cancelled or been postponed.

2020 Australian International Beer Awards cancelled due to COVID-19 23 Jul 2020 Beer

Due to the continuing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, in particular the social distancing measures in place, The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) has made the decision to cancel the 2020 Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA).

Vale Rob Gaylard 23 Jul 2020 Melbourne Royal Community

The RASV Board, management and staff were saddened to learn of the passing of Mr Rob Gaylard. Rob had a long association with the RASV, most notably as the arena announcer for the Horses in Action Competition at the Royal Melbourne Show. The RASV is grateful to Rob for his service and contribution at the Royal Melbourne Show for more than 20 years. Rob will be fondly remembered. Our sincere condolences and sympathy to Rob’s family and friends.

Vale Margaret McIver 23 Jul 2020 Melbourne Royal Community

The RASV Board, management and staff were saddened to learn of the passing of Margaret McIver, passing away on 21 July 2020 at the age of 86. Margaret was Australia's first Olympic dressage rider, competing at the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympic Games.
