I am pleased to advise that the Federal Minister for Agriculture, the Hon. David Littleproud MP announced on Friday 11 March that the Morrison-Joyce Government is providing $3.2 million to the Melbourne Royal Show under Round 2 of the Supporting Agricultural Shows and Field Days program to support costs incurred from the cancelled 2021 event.

On Wednesday 1 December, we held a stylish cocktail presentation to announce the trophy winners for the 2021 Melbourne Royal Australian Distilled Spirits Awards and on Thursday 2 December we held the trophy presentation dinner for the 2021 Melbourne Royal Wine Awards.

The recent easing of COVID restrictions has pleasingly enabled us to proceed with judging of the 2021 Melbourne Royal Wine Awards this week. More than 2,300 wines are being judged by 21 industry experts across four days at Melbourne Showgrounds. Established in 1884, the Melbourne Royal Wine Awards is one of Australia’s oldest and most respected wine shows recognising and rewarding excellence in Australian winemaking with the Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy for best two-year-old red or younger, being one of the feature trophies to win.
